Patrick Moraz
Patrick began his music career in the 1960’s as a jazz pianist after studying jazz and classical piano at a conservatory in his native Switzerland,.
At age 13, he broke 4 fingers on his right hand in a roller skating accident. He was told he would never be able to play classical music again, but with much therapy and concentrating on improving his healthy left hand in the interim, he got back full capabilities, and actually became ambidextrous
At sixteen, he was the youngest person to ever receive the best soloist award at the Zurich Jazz festival
He joined YES after Rick Wakeman left in 1974
Patrick also composed a considerable amount of soundtracks and film scores throughout his career
