Bandleader Billy Diamond nicknamed Domino “Fats”, because he reminded him of two other pianists, Fats Waller and Fats Pichon

An early pioneer of the still-forming rock and roll genre, Fats eventually recorded more than 60 singles for the Imperial record label, spanning Rock, Pop, and Rhythm and Blues. He was clearly one of early rock’s superstars

Paul McCartney reportedly wrote “Lady Madonna” in part as an emulation of Fats’ piano style
