Peter Bardens
Peter learned piano before switching to Hammond organ after listening to American Jazz musician Jimmy Smith
He was briefly the keyboard player in THEM, the British band that had a worldwide hit with the song “Gloria”. The band featured Northern Ireland’s Van Morrison at the beginning of his career
Guitarist Andrew Latimer, Bass player Doug Ferguson and drummer Andy Ward recruited keyboardist Bardens in 1971 and formed CAMEL, a progressive British rock band from Northern Ireland.
Bardens left CAMEL in 1978, and got heavily involved with electronic music
During his career, he played with Rod Stewart, Mick Fleetwood, and former THEM bandmate Van Morrison
