Larry Knechtel
Larry began piano lessons in 1957, at the age of seventeen
He joined guitarist Duane Eddy’s band in 1959, and did some studio recording with him
Through his exposure doing studio work, be began getting freelance gigs, including work with producer Phil Spector during Spector’s creation of “Wall of Sound”
Worked on sessions with hundreds of artists in the 1960’s and was acknowledged as one of the elite members of “The wrecking crew”
Won a Grammy for his piano work on “Bridge over troubled waters” in 1970
In 1971, Larry joined BREAD, David Gate’s very successful commercial group through the 1970’s
A consummate musician Larry was also very proficient on Guitar, Electric Bass Guitar, and Harmonica, playing these instruments on sessions as well.
