Began playing by ear at age 2 using a neighbors piano

His mom bought him a piano a few years later, and he began lessons. He was primarily taught by two local teachers, but took a leap in his playing level after he started lessons with Misha Kotler, the pianist with The Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

He was discovered by Stevie Wonder, whom he joined and played with from 1976-1981

In 1978, Greg began playing on and off with Michael Jackson, playing on Thriller (the best selling album of all time), as well as being Michael’s musical director, and playing on every album since 1978- an amazing 30 year history with The King Of Pop

Played with Eric Clapton through the 1980’s and into the early 1990’s

Filled in for the semi-retired David Paich in Toto in 2006 and 2007

As a prominent session musician, he played on tracks of many different artists

He was musical director of the 2016 Grammy Awards
