Don Airey
Currently the keyboardist for Deep Purple. Joined in 2002, when he replaced Jon Lord
In his early playing days, he flew to Buffalo, NY, (after doing a stint of gigs on a cruise ship), and bought his first Minimoog right from the Moog factory, meeting Bob Moog in the process
Worked as a session musician for a multitude of solo artists and bands.
Joined Ozzy Osbourne’s band in the the early 1980’s, staying for 4 years and playing on 3 albums. Their heavy touring schedule saw them playing 5 nights a week and 40 weeks a year. This band also featured the late, great guitarist Randy Rhoads
Don had made the arrangement and conducted the orchestra on “Love Shine a light” by Katrina and the Waves when they won the 1997 Eurovision contest
