David Bryan
In elementary school, David Bryan also played Violin, Viola, Trumpet, and Clarinet.
A highly accomplished player, Bryan began piano lessons at age 7 and studied at the prestigious Julliard School of Music for 13 years
In 2000, He released a solo album entitled Lunar Eclipse, a primarily instrumental collection of the genres that influenced his musical development, including Blues, Jazz, Classical, and Rock ‘n Roll
He supplied the music and lyrics for the hit musical MEMPHIS, the successful Broadway production which ran from 2009 to 2012. It was loosely based on disc jockey Dewey Phillips, who was the first white DJ to play black music back in the 1950’s. In 2010, the production won 4 Tony awards including Best Musical, Best Composer, Best Book, and Best Orchestrations
In a home accident in the late 1990’s, David almost severed a finger with a circular saw. After a year of rehabilitation and therapy, he regained sufficient motion and flexibility in his finger, and was to rejoin the band and return to his keyboard duties
