Played in a band named Geordie with Brian Johnston, who would later be the lead singer for AC/DC

Joined Dire Straits in 1980 as their main keyboard player, and was a working member until the band’s breakup in the the mid 1990″s

Toured and recorded extensively with Eric Clapton

Played on dozens of artists records as a session man

During the time he was Tina Turner’s musical director, he played on, and arranged her hit “Private Dancer”

Composed several movie soundtracks and television commercials
